Conversations with Strangers feat. Kathleen Hamilton
in all transparency, i know Kathleen a little bit because i was a guest on her podcast, The Ikigaia Podcast. we were supposed to meet as strangers before that, but Kathleen had to postpose her conversation with me, so we are not complete strangers here now, but i know only a little about her.
She was a digital nomad, working as she traveled the world for GeniusU and now she has settled into a home in Lisbon, Portugal. she cares about the future and the present and the people that are able toile a life that gives them fulfilment. listen in to hear what she believes and what she wants to do,
we speak about:
the things that are important to her
about people that care about things and what she sees
how liberating and painful caring can be
the zoom out and the zoom in of looking at life
the beauty of seeing the same thing differently
feeling the zest she has to be able to be happy
what is it about us that makes what we believe hard to say
identity politics
listen to the clarity of how she thinks trough things
growing up in Bali and the stories that are created in that
what other people think about us and why that is important to us
does age dictate why others people opinion mater or stop mattering?
hear what she answers to the question, if money weren’t important to you what would you do?
is there an in to fit into? and why do people who don’t ft into the world try so hard to make other fit in.
an interesting discussion on fitting in and not fitting in
cancel culture and the safety of our beliefs and creating safe spaces
is who we are a fixed thing and do people know who they are
and a whole lot more . . .

If she knew the world was listening, she would tell them –
“there is so much magic to being alive, and your only obligation is to play in that magic, tell your own story, and help others however you can”.

Conversations with Strangers feat. Dana Pierce

Conversations with Strangers feat. Dana Pierce
Dana came to the conversation through another strange that i met in this zoom room, Dan Mangena. Dan was someone i had a great conversation with and he was someone who was open to completely shifting his perspective and as a result he invited a couple fo people to my room to have a conversation. Dana was one of them.
i instantly liked Dana. She is an attractive, intelligent person and you can see and feel from her face, this is a woman who is kind and loving. in speaking together, i found that she is a self love coach and you can clearly see she is doing the work and . . . .
you will want to hear this conversation.
i think it is fair to say, Dana had a big breakthrough in this room where we spoke together. here is what she wrote me after our conversation, “I want to thank you once again for our conversation and the work that you’re doing in the world. So much was gifted to me in our brief time together, and the timeline shifts that have already resulted have been both a blessings and a miracle.”
this is a conversation you will want to listen to. it is open and honest and real and raw. i hope you love it.
we speak about:
what happens when people feel loved and accepted
how Dana came here to be challenged
how important it is to be seen and heard
how much we share in common
on becoming 50
to sit with people and hold the space to be with them in unconditional love
how when the gift she gives others is given to her and how she feels it is a challenge to be on the other side of what she does. getting behind the story we hide behind and looking at it eyeball to eyeball
discovering the reason why she showed up today
the fear she feels and the desire to go back into the story to escape the fear
shame and will i be shamed by myself
going from the place where you are the one who gives the answers to being the one that is asked the questions
questioning the answers she gives and the stories she tells
what is the fear she thinks she will shame herself for
rejection and belonging and the tears in her eyes
why in the story of rejection does shame show up
the story of a 15 year old mother and the train of shame that connects the dots through the incidents of her life
what her shame protects her from seeing
trust and faith and how can i trust my faith when i have been hurt unraveling the feeling to arise from behind the story it hides behind
how hard it is to stay with the feeling of the shift rather than go back to safe story
doing the best that you can
what is the story life is telling you that you haven’t yet heard empathy and compassion
the story of elisa, listening and the escalation of her behaviours until she is heard and the whisper the things in her life are trying to say to her.
the shift, bam, and the realisation of how important it is for her to show up
the gift of shame
and a whole lot more . . .

Conversations with Strangers feat. Reid Messerschmidt

Conversations with Strangers feat. Reid Messerschmidt
i can’t believe i nailed it and said his last name correctly. i love that right off the bat we find something in common; we both like to do the same things, speaking to strangers and how do you not like a guy who says you have a great energy. i like his background and the sound of his voice lets you know he is comfortable in front of a microphone. he lives in Fargo, is married and has 2 kids and you can feel how much he loves his kids.
we speak about:
evolving love
the difference of love of kids and love of spouse
growing up in the 70’s and how wholesome it was and what Reid does to create that environment in his home
growing up with parents who did not like each other and were not good roles models for the person he wanted to be
a human being relationship with our kids
the happiest time of day
squeezing the life out of life
sobriety and addiction
the process of going sober and who gave him the courage to go sober
the strength to change everything
the key to staying sober
the writer archetype and the truth about the artist
could he have done better and how what he did made him who he is today
being an introverted extroverted person
talk or listen and what changed
the surprise that comes in collaboration with people who are different
trying so hard to fit into the world
the only continuous line we have in life
is what we see real or old
a snapshot of a life that is not like we are
the desire to be admired
the picture and the mirror
the mirror maker from The Mosaic
who would you be without your stories?
are there stories you have told yourself for years that just were never true but you told it to yourself so many time you actually believed it
soho, the home run and the story my dad dying
what if this is the last time you will be able to do what you are doing now?
and a whole lot more

Conversations with Strangers feat. Laura Garner

Conversations with Strangers feat. Laura Garner
the amazing thing that i see again and again as people come into this room is how each person elicits a different response just from their presence. the minute i saw Laura there was something about her that might have even surprised her, but there was a closeness i felt with her.
and as you watch this, i think you will see this gentle shift happen in the way the energy of being loved and accepted, listened to and heard and acknowledged and validated allows some of what protects us to fall away and to allow ourselves to be seen.
this is an amazingly deep conversation to be having with 2 people who don’t know each other.
listen in as we speak about:
how Laura is doing in a world where so many things are happening accepting what you can control in these times and being happy doing that
protecting yourself so you can care for others.
the great white knight no longer lives here
what we do when we can’t fix anything that is wrong or take away another person’s pain and the frustration in not being able to do it the need of the fixer vs what the person we are trying to fix needs my obsession with overhead projectors
a beautiful revelation of what the white knight really does
the beautiful realisations that come from the journey Laura has been on
“toxic positivity”
seeing good in the world, toxic positivity and the beauty of the experience of pain
the masks we wear in all the places we wear them
we see more of what we see. what do you focus on?
what is important to her and does she see a world that looks like what is important to her
when a crisis becomes prolonged, with no end in sight, hear what happens
backing up to protect ourselves vs. moving forward to embrace another
the bonds we have vs.the fears we have
fear, threat, and when a leader is closed to new ideas
pausing, slowing down moving out of our head and into our heart the honesty of the battle of the head and the heart
the power of one simple practice to bring you back to your body the practice of the five senses
what robs the presence of the heart and moves us to our head where does the criticality of the mind start
do you believe people listen?
is it that people don’t listen or don’t take action?
the pain that keeps us running on the treadmill
what she would tell a world that is listening
and a whole lot more

Conversations with Strangers feat. Michele Julian

By Conversations
Conversations with Strangers feat. Michele Julian
Michele is a friend of another woman who i met here in another conversation with a stranger, Jessa Grace. so, although i had no idea who Michele was, i did know that she was friends with someone i was becoming friends with at that moment.
i immediately felt connected to her and she was kind enough to have already bought my book, The Mosaic and she has also joined The Mosaic Book Club. from the moment she speaks you can feel her and how her friendliness is infectious.
listen in as we speak about:
meeting strangers and not knowing what they are going through on their journey
as we go through this global pandemic, how are you really doing? seeing the goodness she has and feeling gratitude for her support unit
the feeling she discovers we all have when she talks to strangers why is connecting to others so important
the connection her mom and dad felt that transcends time and space
can people that have passed speak to those they love who are still here
do you believe that and what does your belief in that mean to you. what comes from the experience of 4 near death experiences what she receives in the connection she has to others
notice the pause she experiences when her belief system around what makes her happy is questioned
where does happiness really live
see how the story she has crafted dictates the life she leads thinking that because of the work she has done that she could be 5-6 days by herself and be ok, but after that she would need interaction with people
how much do you need people to make you happy
does happiness live inside us
who or what changes after 5-6 days????
why do we listen more to the people that are the least important to us and less so to the ones most important to us?
is it easier to talk to a stranger or a loved one
listening and understanding
judging a book by its cover
the positive and negative side of curiosity
how passion plays out in her life
the opening up of energy centers, passion, creativity and experiencing energy of creativity
the capacity to love and be loved
the one thing she would want to say
and a whole lot more . . .

Conversations with Strangers feat. Brent D. Raymond

By Conversations
Conversations with Strangers feat. Brent D. Raymond
Brent D. Raymond is a good guy. i liked him from the moment i saw him. he is thoughtful, warm, sensitive, in touch with his feelings and openly vulnerable. you don’t often see that in a man
.
he is a friend of another stranger i had a conversation with Daniel Mangena and so i came in thinking i was already going to like him. it is amazing how even the smallest amount of information makes us feel differently about one person over another, imagine what a recommendation from a mutual friend does to open a door if just being the friend of another stranger in this room, poised me to like him right off the bat. Daniel’s influence only went so far, Brent carried it the rest of the way. easy to like, we had a great conversation.
this is an important conversation for you to listen to, you will want to hear this one.
listen in as we speak about:
being spectacular and then feeling even better
being in awe with life
feeling the energy in the room and what that means
returning to his hometown for the 1st time in 26 years
not knowing, not fearful, having no idea why he’s here
but jumping w/both feet in
5 year gap life
the journey that returned him home
being present in that moment
challenging the brain and softening the thoughts
the trick he uses to stop punishing himself for his past “mistakes”
a reframe challenge on a belief he holds
and the scenario shift that happens
why we believe things are hard when they are actually very easy
loathing self vs loving self
feel the shift that happens when everything changes
hear the ingrained story, i could have done a lot more and the punishment of self for not doing it
listen to how it shifts again, i am the one with the most wasted potential, but now i am ready and the shift to i am starting too.
the “i had” to “i have” moment
what it means to be Brent D. Raymond
who does he need to be now that everything he has done was not a waste of time
reframing the goal
and a whole lot more . . .

Conversations with Strangers feat. Hema Vyas

By Conversations
Conversations with Strangers feat. Hema Vyas
Hema Vyas is a renowned speaker on heart wisdom, human consciousness, spirituality, health, energy medicine and the science of Ayurveda. For almost thirty years she has been practising as a psychologist and life leadership mentor.
Her work is about connecting timeless wisdom to solve the problems of modern times, especially by understanding the significance of the heart that she describes as a portal to higher consciousness and to a creative expanse.
Hema’s mission is to provide a direct experience of the power of the heart and move people into what she uniquely terms a state of gold. “Nothing can tarnish or destroy the sustainable and highly valuable element of gold, so when we excavate all that is not who we really are, we become aware of our true selves”.
it only took a couple of moments for me to feel how deeply connected i was to this stranger that i never even knew existed. an indian woman living in the UK invited me to connect on LinkedIn and rather than just meet i asked if we could have our meeting on “Conversations with Strangers” and she agreed. this was the first of what i think will be many conversations we have together.
listen in as we speak about:
feeling people energetically before we feel them physically
the silent despair
how do we decipher the truth
feel the honesty and vulnerability that happens immediately describing a dark night of the soul
the courage it takes to look at that pain and emptiness
the beast, desire and passion
the beauty in the dark and the light
the heart energy
how to achieve an integrated world
have we forgotten how to feel
the power of space, feeling each other beyond words
people experiencing the opening of their energy centers and feeling it in ways they know how to feel it
feeling the soul of people vs their external being
the resonance of our hearts merging together,
orgasm, creation and feeling new possibilities
the importance of the energy of love in every part of life
and a whole lot more . . .
if love is important to you, this is a conversation you must listen to.

Conversations with Strangers feat. Neelum Tewar

By Conversations
Conversations with Strangers feat. Neelum Tewar
Neelum’s eventful life has taken her from schooling to living in different parts of the world for work and other personal pursuits, which she’d like to believe has given her friends all over the globe, the gift of tolerance, and kept the wanderlust-er in her well nourished.
after over a decade in corporate America working for international pharmaceutical & FMCG brands on digital strategy, media, and advertising, she felt she wasn’t living up to my most sincere potential to help contribute and elevate humanity in a way only she could.
so far it has been a fulfilling ride and taken her to stages across the world, with two TEDx invitations, writing her first book of poetry, and working with soulful men and smart women who want to earnestly create more impact and build their Empire of Good in the world. Yes, every now and then she pinches herself, and often, her work humbles her in ways she never thought was ever possible.
Neelum’ is not a compete stranger. i know her somehow, but i am not even sure how know her. and there is an energy about her that makes being with her comfortable. so from the first moment she came into the zoom room, actually before that, from the first moment we “met” i liked her. i like the way she thinks and the way she does the work that she does. her whole being feels comfortable to me, like a warm cashmere coat on a blistering cold day.
listen in as we speak about:
slowing down to speed up
making space for yourself in the day
creating pockets of space and knowing where you are going alignment
asking, receiving, and asking better
three words she uses to guide her way that she has never shared before
law of attraction, the story of heaven and how you ask the right questions
patience
peeling back layer upon layer to get the thing you really want
the flashback of your life and the revelation it shows
the thankfulness of freedom
giving a name to what you are going through
is the destination you are going to the one you really are seeking be the lighthouse and just showing up
be the unedited version of yourself
never let your stories keep people from finding you
what is the light you want people to see in the light you shine
and a whole lot more . . .

Conversations with Strangers feat. Joawe Yang

By Conversations
Conversations with Strangers feat. Joawe Yang
from the first moment she came into the zoom room, actually before that, front eh first moment we messaged each other to set up this conversation, i knew i was going to enjoy this call.
there is something about the college mind that is so refreshing. it reminds me of my days in college years ago, sitting in a cafe, smoking, er “cigarettes (not really)” and philosopising late into the night. how beautiful that mind is, inquisitive, curious, brilliant and fresh.
I love her common conversational terminology, listen to the terms she uses: “the serendipity engineering process”, “digital virtual sanctuary where people are having conscious conversation to create and show through conscious listening how the world could be a better place”. when was the last time you spun a phrase like that.
i also loved how she she intuitively understood The Mosaic without us ever speaking to each other. i found this amazing, that the idea of The Mosaic translates so easily cross generationally. feel how she feels things that are happening without experiencing them physically but so much so that her emotion change over time.
we speak about:
the deep connection she feel to the world because we are all connected
feeling overwhelmed, frustrated, and anxious
the clarity of her mind and the sensitivity of her heart
the intuitive mind vs the rational mind
where she learned all the she learned
4 years of depression, deep rest, and reconnection to who she is the meeting of people and unconditional love and support
paying attention to the underlying state of mind behind mind being you
the happiness of connection time,
energy and love
what is reality and can reality change with a new way of experiencing life
and a whole lot more . . .
listen to this podcast and hear how our discussion evolves.

Conversations with Strangers feat.Briana Bowley
Briana is a personal freedom coach who helps people express self freedom because as a kid she didn’t feel like she could do this. she felt she had to change herself to fit into boxes that are not who you are.
i loved the honestly of her answers and how her purpose in life emerged from helloing others have what she hadn’t had.
we spoke about:
the moment that she changed and what happened to allow her to do so
taking your power back
the courage to find your own life
feeling trapped by whom
what happens when the adversary is ourselves
the comfort of the known
when will the fear of the unknown be less than the pain of the known
the identity of the smart one
why we try so hard to fit into a world we feel we don’t fit into groundhog day and variety
everything is the way it is supposed to be and being a personal freedom coach
my transformation for great with knight to mosaic piece
and a whole lot more . . .
